I don’t go to D.C. much but when I do, its usually for a session. Living in the suburbs is so nice but I forget how close I am to D.C.. I am not happy with how little I visit it so when Lauren and Kevin asked me to do their sunrise session at the monuments, I was so excited! This was my first time doing this and I’d love to do a DC Engagement session again!
We started off at the Lincoln Memorial which was actually pretty crowded with lots of others there to take photos and just watch the sunrise. Problem is, we never really got a sunrise because it was cloudy but the sun did peak through the clouds for about 20 seconds for me to grab a few shots. It wasn’t bright enough to show up in the photos but it was there. Hopefully the next time I do a DC Engagement session at the memorials, there will be one!
After we photographed around the Lincoln Memorial, we took a walk to the reflecting pool and then the War Memorial. It was quiet with no one else around and we had it all to ourselves. After we wrapped up the session, we walked to get coffee before I had to leave to go do 2 other sessions (yes 2!) that day. I loved talking and getting to know them!
Kevin and Lauren met through friends in high school and went to prom together! They officially started dating towards the end of their senior year and continued dating long distance throughout college and grad school (same as me and my husband!). Kevin proposed on a ski trip in January at Snowshoe Resort on top of the mountain after a day of skiing which they love to do! Talk about romantic!!! They then celebrated with friends and family after who were waiting at a restaurant nearby. So sweet!
I had so much fun with Lauren and Kevin at their DC Engagement session. I’m so excited to celebrate with them and be a part of their wedding next year in Leesburg, VA!
