There’s no prettier building in the DMV then the National Cathedral in D.C. The architecture is amazingly crafted with so much detail and the cream color of it makes it dreamy! My dream has to always do a National Cathedral wedding and I just about did that! I wish I could shoot here every day or at least more often but its hard because a.) its an hour from me and b.) they require a $250 permit. Not just the external part of the building is beautiful but so is the inside which you will see in the photos below. I’m thinking to do spring sessions here though once the gardens and cherry blossoms bloom because it will be gorgeous! Send me an email if your interested!
I was referred to Kasi from a previous bride of mine. She reached out to me and told me they were not happy with their wedding photos that were taken by another photographer the year before. That made my heart break. I hate hearing couples say they don’t have nice wedding photos and are upset with the photos that were taken. So I feel incredibly honored that these two would trust me to redo their photos so that they can hang them on the wall in their house and cherish them.
We woke up super early and met down there at 8am. It was cold and windy and these two braved it as well as their pup who was shivering! There was still construction going on because the church was damaged from the earthquake we had in 2011 so there were gates up in areas that I tried to work around. Luckily the church was open for us to warm up in and take breaks as well as photograph in. We started on the outside, worked our way in and then went back outside to the Bishop’s garden. These two were natural posers and so sweet together! We talked about their honeymoon to Italy which is where I’d love to go next year! We spent almost two hours there and I honestly didn’t want to stop because it was so beautiful. Hopefully in the spring time I will be back!
